Logisitics, Distribution & Sales Support:
In 2009 parts logistics and distribution activities were centralised from across Europe into this state-of the-art warehouse facility. The new centre carries 26,000 part numbers, with 95% of parts shipped the same day.
Since its opening, ordering parts online is rapidly becoming the method of choice by an increasing number of customers, enabling customers to order 24 hours a day, seven days a week and access live order status and history information.
The best-practice in place at the centre, utilising lean techniques, advanced technology and integrated management systems to maximize efficiency, helps ensure customers receive the highest level of quality and service. Analysis of the parts service experienced by customers is ongoing and steps to improve performance are made continuously as we benchmark performance against other leading companies in our field of operations.
The purpose-built new PDI (Pre-Delivery Inspection) centre opened in January 2010. Housing both new and used equipment, products are tested prior to shipment, with options fitted by the PDI team to increase quick turn-around.
The customer service team located at the EDC centralises European order processing, creating a single on-site supply chain for new equipment and parts. This has helped ensure faster response times and increased efficiency, while still providing sales support in customers' own languages with a dedicated customer service representive for each region. This multi-lingual team manages purchases from order to invoice, providing lead time and machine availability information.
